While it may take years to catalog all the aromas and tastes of fine wine, in one evening we will give you a solid appreciation for how critical technology is to wine production and distribution.
Pairing Wine and Technology
Join us on Thursday, March 19th for light appetizers, wine, and a sparkling presentation on wine technology at the Clubhouse at the Queen Anne Masonic Lodge. This historic venue was built in 1905 by the Pacific States Telephone and Telegraph Company and was one of the first buildings built on Queen Anne Hill.
Learn about the technology used in:
- Winemaking laboratories
- Logistics and tracking applications used to control the wine supply chain from grape to sales floor
- Regulatory compliance
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
The presentation will be given by Regina Daigneault, the program coordinator of the Wine Technology Program at South Seattle College. Our guest sommelier will be David LeClaire.
Reggie Daigneault works as the Program Coordinator and Full Time Instructor for the Wine Technology Program at South Seattle College. Her background spans 30 years in the restaurant and wine industries. She’s had diverse wine sales and marketing experience as the Wine Director at Palisade Restaurant and as the Sales Manager of Cordon Selections, a local wine distributor and wine importer.
Reggie is certified with the Court of Master Sommeliers and has completed through the Diploma level of certification with Wine and Spirit Education Trust. She presently teaches Wine Marketing and Sales, Introduction to Wines of the World, Advanced Wines of the World Courses, Wine Business Courses, Sensory Evaluation, and Advanced Sensory Evaluation at the Wine Technology Program at South Seattle College.
David LeClaire is a certified sommelier from the Court of Master Sommeliers and currently serves as Wine Ambassador for Esquin Wine & Spirits. He was the Founder of Wine World & Spirits, the largest independent wine store in the Northwest. He was awarded the “2013 Independent Retailer of the Year” award by the Washington Wine Commission and was featured in Seattle Metropolitan Magazine. David is also the founder of the popular wine club Seattle Uncorked and produces a wide array of wine, spirits, and beer events each year.
David served as wine director at Seattle’s prestigious Alexis Hotel (and Painted Table Restaurant) for ten years. He serves as judge for various wine competitions, including the Oregon and Seattle Wine Awards, Northwest Wine Summit, and Seattle Magazine's Washington Wine Awards. David is also a wine program and marketing consultant with Q Hospitality Management.
David is an instructor at both Bellevue College and North Seattle College as well as a freelance writer for the Washington Tasting Room Magazine. He is often booked for speaking engagements for wine clubs and special events. David is also the creator of a multitude of charity fundraisers and promotional wine events.
